Role and Responsibilities

Monitoring intake of stock to meet sales plans

  • Produce weekly intake plan for the DC and Distribution teams.
  • Inform Distribution of any changes to quantities in deliveries which will impact on allocation plans.
  • Work with Distribution to share information on intake, including review of garments / footwear samples to ensure Distribution team have all the information they need to make commercial allocation decisions.
  • Update flow lines and WSSI sales stock and intake for review with the Assistant Merchandiser.
  • Make recommendations for repeat orders complete with explanations to the Assistant Merchandiser.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the DC and Channel Merchandising teams.
  • Answer general queries from Distribution and Customer Services regarding product.

 

Accurate maintenance of the merchandising systems to assist the decision making process

  • Produce and distribute Monday morning reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Keeping accurate files and records as appropriate.
  • Ensure all lines have the correct prices and analysis fields set up on the system.
  • Input and check prices and markdowns on the system as required.
  • Deal with any ticketing or re-pricing issues.

 

Provision of analytical back-up and administrative support to the team

  • Calculating sizing for initial and repeat orders in accordance with department sizing strategy and sales data. Ensuring information is passed promptly to buying.
  • Assisting in the production of both in-season and end of season analysis under supervision of the Assistant Merchandiser to influence current trading and future planning and distributing to all relevant personnel.
  • Ensuring all buying, warehouse and retail queries are dealt with efficiently and quickly.
  • Preparation of story boards and style books.
  • Analysing returns reports for faulty goods, and informing Product Merchandising and buying teams as appropriate.
  • Carrying out ad hoc analysis as required.
